It's that time of year ...

Did I get you singing the Christmas song???  It's that time of year when Christmas cards are being written and Christmas gifts are being bought... unless you are a scrapper.  For a couple of years, I made calendars for family members.  Printed them out and went to Kinko's to get them bound.  Worked out wonderful.  Then I didn't.  Why?  I don't know.  Didn't think of it until to late or more likely... just plain lazy.  This year... back to making calendars again.  This time I went over to Janelle Fam blog and scrolled down until I found a link to her 2010 calendar templates on the right hand side.  Or click on the link above to take you right to it.  I make mine in 8 1/2 x 11, so some adjustment was necessary for her layouts.  But if you really want to do something cool to get you going in Scrapping... calendars for Christmas gifts are awesome.  After finding the right paper, elements and of course template... you can get started.  Once I get them set up the way I like, I'll go through the pictures in 2010 for each of the months to stick into the calendar.  So it will show pictures of the kids in January 2010 for the January 2011 calendar.  Weird, but it's what I like to do.  Here is my January 2011 layout:

Template: JanelleFam.blogspot.com
Papers & elements: DFJS_CAW
Month/Year: Metal Red by SuperBladePro

Just 11 more months to go and pictures to be inserted.  The easy part is printing and binding.  Though the most expensive part is printing.  The ink cost a fortune!!!  I'll keep you posted as I go along.

  3. I just got an email advertising a great deal for printing your calendars. I have used My Pic Tales to print my calendars in the past, and they do a great job on a nice weight of paper. Right now until Oct. 31 you can get 8 1/2 X 11 inch calendars that are spiral bound at the top for $7.80 (Regular $13.00). Use the coupon code SAVECAL10 when you check out. You don't need to use their calendar templates, just upload your calendar pages as jpegs with adequate bleed. You can contact their customer service if you have questions - they have been great to work with in the past. Happy Scrapping!
