A challenging start

October is upon us once again. There will be plenty going this month for great photo ops; Oktoberfests, school festivals and, of course, Halloween.

This is a great month to try out some of those challenges we have been talking about. And as I do them, I'll try to remember to post a link to the challenge, some info on it and my finished page(s), from some of my favorite challenges at Gotta Pixel, GoDigitals, Digital Scrapbooking Place and others.

I do hope that you will take up a challenge or two and here are a few things to remember:

1. To participate, post and receive any bonus in the forums, you must join. It's not hard and doesn't require a lot from you.
2. Read the directions carefully if you are interesting in receiving any of the bonuses.
3. Have fun and make it a learning experience.

Now let's start with one of my favorites from Gotta Pixel - "Rock Your Desktop." While technically not a scrapbook page, it's a good way to try out your skills and you end up a new desktop every month.

By using the tips in the "A cunning conversion up" and "A cunning conversion down" posts you can even use a template to help build your desktop. On my desktop for October I opted to use a tree, cloud and frames cluster as the basis. Adding a spiderweb, ghost and Dracula to round it out I ended up with a desktop that is perfect for the Halloween in me. Lets see what you can come up with. Follow the link above to get the specific directions.
